ATex lead the charge in multiple oil and gas plays and geographic locations in completing a full engineering package including Engineering and design of the production facilities and often times lift solutions including gas lift and jet pump for multi-well pads and centralized facilities. ATex specializes in supporting clients where they need it the most so scopes varied but included civil, mechanical and process engineering as well as procurement and regulatory support. ATex has provided mechanical construction drawing packages which include, P&IDs, Plot Plans, Process flow diagrams, Bill of Materials, Piping Isometrics, cause and effect matrices and detailed pad construction documentation.

ATex supported a client in Permian in upgrading an existing Brown Field facility originally build to manage a single vertical well to be capable of handling a new horizontal well with over 1,500 barrels of fluid per day and 2 MMCFD. ATex utilized detailed engineering to understand the limitations of the existing equipment then engineering new equipment and out to the box solutions to make the existing equipment optimized for the process.

A significant North American Operator with a portfolio of oil and gas assets in the Eagleford basin was looking to develop a large development area with a desire to focus on safe engineering and design. The operator required a fully engineered design that could be adjusted and applied across future facilities providing a modular and scalable approach facility construction. They also were looking for a standardized approach for their drilling sites to provide constancy across the facilities. ATex created a standard engineering design, recommended practice documents and construction package for a typical well pad. We then provided continuous support tweaking the design as the throughputs and other factors changed. ATex also designed the required infrastructure required to manage the product.

Regulatory and Compliance Support

At ATex we believe in supporting a client from the initial design all through the implementation of the project and that includes understanding the regulatory requirements to not only design a facility to be compliant, but to also complete those permits and regulatory documentation. We believe, by knowing and understanding the design and interworking of the facility, we are able to provide the highest quality regulatory and compliance support at the lowest cost. Gone are the days of having to hire a middle man to ensure consultants communicate information correctly. At ATex the knowledge transfer is seamless and we are able to get it done quicker and more cost efficiently. These documents include H2S Contingency Plans, Site Specific Emergency Response plans, Emergency Response Plans, SPCC, SWPPP, DOT Compliance and Tier 2 as well as all the standard regulatory and compliance permits and documents.

ATex has helped build dozens of central and wellhead facilities to support 100s of wells in many different plays throughout the US, but what differentiates us, we don’t just design and walk away. We are a continuous support system for operators to help optimize and understand any limitations or issues the operator may have. We have spent years understanding the challenges the area is faced with and work hard to provide the highest quality at the lowest cost design while remaining available through the years the sites are operated.

ATex has extensive experience generating the necessary production surveillance tools catered to your specific assets. A lean operator in the Hugoton asset in Kansas and Oklahoma required an accurate production surveillance program for the production and operation team to assist in minimizing the base decline of the asset while providing significant time savings to focus on other technical duties, such as field optimization and asset development. Our staff created a surveillance tool using an analytics platform to identify weekly production variances for over 5,000 oil and gas wells. Any identified variances were compiled into a report and automatically sent to production engineers and well analysts for instant review and to implement proactive measures to return production. In parallel to this surveillance tool, our staff utilized an A.I. software to monitor rod-pump performance over time. The software identifies wells with increasing run times, decreasing run times, and 24 hour run times. The wells are compiled and sent to production engineers and well analysts for diagnosis. This allowed the technical team to identify a potential upcoming failure or optimization opportunity.

A mature waterflood operated in Oklahoma required conformance diagnosis to identify opportunities to optimize IWR and improve base decline. Our staff reconstructed the production and injection history across the field, calculated original oil in place (OOIP) and recovery factor (RF) by pattern, analyzed pore volumes injected (PVI) and evaluated injection profiles to focus on underperforming areas. The analysis realized varying issues and the team implemented injector cleanouts, producer cleanouts, shut off thief zones and water zones which improved sweep efficiency of the flood and shallowing the field decline from 16% to 1.5%.
